Fed: Two more Australians fighting with al-Qaeda = 2

Defence Minister Robert Hill and Attorney-General Daryl Williams said one of the men
was believed to have served in the Australian Army.

They said the two men were probably in Afghanistan.

One was a 25-year-old caucasian man whose parents contacted the Department of Foreign
Affairs and Trade and expressed concern about his welfare, the ministers said in a statement.

He was believed to have entered Afghanistan from Iran on or about August 8.

"He has previously served with the Australian Army," the statement said.

"His name will not be made public by the government out of respect for his family,
who are understandably concerned about their son."

The ministers said Australian authorities were continuing inquiries into the man and
his whereabouts and activities.
