SA: Afghan community fears more suicides - welfare agency

ADELAIDE, Feb 7 AAP - Australia's Afghan community feared more deaths of asylum seekersfollowing the suicide of a man this week, a Catholic welfare worker said today.
A 46-year-old Afghan committed suicide at Murray Bridge in South Australia on Monday,Centacare executive director Dale West said.
The man had been on a temporary protection visa (TPV) due to expire on April 11.
The asylum seeker, who was held for six months at the Port Hedland detention centrein Western Australia on arrival in Australia, had hanged himself, Mr West said.
